IPL (Intense Pulsed Light)

Photofacial

Blotchy skin, sun spots, redness, or uneven tone—these are common skin concerns that can affect how we feel about our appearance. Fortunately, there’s a simple, non-invasive way to treat them and bring out a clearer, brighter complexion.

IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) with Venus Versa uses advanced light technology to target unwanted pigmentation and visible veins beneath the skin. The light energy is absorbed by darker or red areas, breaking them down naturally while leaving the surrounding skin unharmed.

This treatment helps reduce sun spots, redness, visible capillaries, and overall discolouration. It also encourages collagen production, giving your skin a smoother, more even look over time. The result? Healthier, more radiant skin without downtime.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will this benefit my skin?

The best candidate for IPL is someone with an uneven skin tone, visible sun damage, discoloration, or broken capillaries. It’s ideal for treating redness, brown spots, and other pigmentation issues. IPL photofacials can also help improve the appearance of fine lines by stimulating collagen, leaving the skin looking brighter, clearer, and more refreshed.

How many sessions until I can see results?

Most patients receive 4-5 treatments per area. The exact number will depend on each individual person and the area being treated.

How often should my treatments be?

Treatments are done 3 weeks apart.

Do I need to prepare anything before my treatment?

Come to your appointment with clean skin—no lotions, creams, or makeup. Avoid using any irritating skincare products (like retinol or acids) for 2–3 days prior, and stay away from tanning or self-tanners before your session. You may be asked to shave the area beforehand, and be sure to remove any jewelry near the treatment zone.

How long is the treatment?

Each session typically takes 15–25 minutes, but may take longer depending on the size of the area and your skin’s needs.

What does it feel like?

Most people describe the sensation as a quick snap or light flick against the skin—similar to a rubber band. It's generally well-tolerated, and any discomfort is brief.

What does it feel after my treatment?

It’s normal for your skin to feel warm and slightly sensitive, similar to a mild sunburn. Redness may last a few hours up to a full day, depending on your skin type and the area treated. To get the best results and avoid irritation, make sure to follow all pre- and post-care instructions provided by your technician.

How long is Recovery time?

There is no downtime after an IPL treatment!

What do I do after my treatment?

Avoid tanning and self-tanners for at least 2 weeks before and after your treatment, as this can increase the risk of irritation or pigmentation changes. Apply sunscreen daily to protect your skin. For the first 48 hours, avoid hot baths, saunas, massages, or any treatments involving direct skin contact to allow your skin to properly heal.

Can I wear makeup right after my treatment?

Yes. Make sure to wear a sun-screen to protect your face.

Are my results long-lasting?

The longevity of your results depends on how your skin responds to the treatment and how well you protect it afterward. Consistent sun protection helps maintain your improvements longer. Typically, we recommend scheduling a touch-up session every 3 to 6 months to keep your skin looking its best.
